ScripWhat is SCRIP?SCRIP is the fundraising program that works while you shop. How does it work? We purchase gift certificates from local businesses, Appleseed Scrip Center or Great Lakes Scrip Center at a discount (see the attached merchant lists). You purchase gift certificates from us at full face value for businesses you intend to patron. When you shop, dine, buy groceries or gas, use your gift certificates instead of cash or a credit card. The difference between the face value and the discount becomes our revenue. How much have we raised? We have raised $24,000 since the program began March 1, 2004. We contributed $4,000 to the St. John’s General Operating Fund in June 2005, and $2,000 in September 2005. The balance is used to enable us to purchase inventory to offer a wide variety of gift certificates on hand. What is our goal for Fiscal Year 2005-2006? The parish has projected $20,000 in revenue from SCRIP for the current Fiscal Year. Our goal is to exceed the projection and raise AT LEAST $25,000! What can I do? We need YOUR HELP! By participating in SCRIP, you will insure the success of SCRIP and help generate needed funding for St. John’s. The General Operating Fund is responsible for 100% of the day to day operating expenses of St. John the Baptist Parish AND St. John the Baptist School. Is it really easy to do? Yes!!! There are FIVE easy ways to participate: 1. Stop by the Scrips Table in the breezeway after all weekend Masses to purchase Gift Certificates from our Inventory. If we don’t have what you’re looking for, complete an order form and we’ll have it ready for you the next weekend! 2. Complete an Order Form and send it in on Monday morning via the School Family Envelope (use the SCRIP envelope provided for your order form and payment). We’ll fill your order and send it home in the School Family Envelope on Friday. 3. Use your FREE Kroger Reloadable Gift Card when you grocery shop or purchase fuel at Kroger’s. We preload them with $1 to activate the card . When you shop at Kroger’s, you put money or “Reload” the gift card at the service desk or cashier before your order is scanned. Kroger’s issues St. John’s a check every four weeks for 4% of the “Reloads” on all St. John’s Reloadable Gift Cards. Stop by the Scrips Table or check the box on the order form if you need one-they’re free! 4. Join the Meijer Community Rewards Program by signing up online at meijer.com/rewards – our organization code is 989811 – or pick up a flyer at the Scrip table. Use your Meijer Community Rewards Program when you shop at Meijer – they send us a check for a percentage of the total sales purchased by St. John’s Community Rewards members. 5. Pick up a flyer for Gordon Food Service’s Fun Funds program – use their card when you shop at Gordon Food Service, and they issue a check for a percentage of the total sales purchased by St. John’s members. What does it cost me? Nothing – you simply use the gift certificates for purchases you would make anyway! That’s the best part of SCRIP!!!
